INGREDIENTS:
- 2 King Oyster Mushrooms, cleaned and sliced into scallop-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the King Oyster mushrooms by cleaning them and slicing them into scallop-sized pieces.
In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, maple syrup and sesame oil to create the glaze.
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add a bit of oil to coat the pan.
Place the King Oyster mushroom slices in the pan and sear them for 2-3 minutes on each side until they get a golden color.
Pour the miso-maple glaze over the mushrooms, ensuring each piece is coated evenly. Allow the glaze to caramelize slightly, about 2-3 minutes, while continuously spooning it over the mushrooms.
Once the mushrooms are glazed and caramelized, remove them from the pan and place them on a serving plate.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for added crunch and visual appeal.
