Smoked salmon and avocado bagel

Smoked salmon and avocado bagel makes for a delicious and satisfying breakfast, brunch, or lunch option. The combination of the salty and smoky salmon, creamy avocado, and the added ingredients create a harmonious blend of flavors.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 bagel
  • 1/4 shallot
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp scallion
  • 1 tsp capers
  • Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds
  • Smoked salmon
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Salt
  • Black peppe

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cut the bagel in half and toast it to your desired level of crispiness.

  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with finely diced shallot and scallion. Add salt and pepper to taste. This will be your cream cheese spread.

  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto both halves of the toasted bagel.

  4. Slice the avocado and place it on top of the cream cheese spread. Squeeze lemon juice over the avocado slices to add some freshness.

  5. Lay slices of smoked salmon on top of the avocado.

  6. Sprinkle capers over the smoked salmon.

  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Allow the butter to melt and coat the skillet.

  8. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook it according to your preference (e.g., sunny-side-up, over-easy, etc.).

  9. Once the egg is cooked, carefully transfer it onto one half of the bagel, on top of the smoked salmon and capers.

  10. Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds on top of the egg for added flavor and texture.

  11. Close the bagel with the other half and gently press it together.
