Panettone French Toast
Panettone, a traditional Italian sweet bread, is a delightful treat that takes center stage during festive seasons. INGREDIENTS:
- 4 slices of panettone
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- Pinch of salt
- Butter for cooking
- Maple syrup for drizzling
- Pistachio Cream
- Handful of pistachios
- Orange
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Dip each slice of panettone into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly. Allow excess to drip off.
Melt a pat of butter on the preheated skillet. Place the coated panettone slices on the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
Transfer the cooked panettone o serving plates.
Add a spoon of pistachio cream (or more if you wish!). Drizzle with maple syrup over the top.
Garnish with slices of fresh orange.
