INGREDIENTS:
- 2 apples
- 200 ml milk (slightly less than 1 cup)
- 1 egg
- 150 g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- For frying: clarified butter, coconut oil, or other vegetable oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Sift the flour into a bowl. Add vanilla sugar, regular sugar, and baking soda. Mix well.
- Add milk and egg, then whisk the ingredients with a whisk until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.
- Peel the apples, cut them into quarters, remove the seeds, then cut each quarter lengthwise in half and then into crosswise slices. Add them to the batter and mix.
- Spoon about a tablespoon of the batter and place 3 slices of apples onto it in a hot, greased pan. Fry for about 1.5 minutes until golden. Flip and repeat frying on the other side.
- Serve with powdered sugar, cherry jam, etc.
